About the Hall

The Author’s Hall of Fame is dedicated to recognizing and preserving the history about the accomplishments of past and present authors who have created and published books. Both historical and contemporary authors who have shared their words of wisdom, encouragement and entertainment are celebrated. The Author’s Hall of Fame ensures that their insight and visionary achievements will not be forgotten.

The Author’s Hall of Fame is an all-volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was originally founded in 2014. Induction ceremonies commenced in 2019. Future inductions will be held in odd numbered years, going forward. Calls for nominations for inductions are issued in August of the preceding year and end in February of the induction year.

The Aspiring Authors Scholarships were first awarded in September 2022 for five recipients. Scholarships are awarded in even numbered years. Submissions are welcomed from January through April, of that year. Each award will consist of cash and a mentorship. There are two basic elements: Qualification and Mentoring. Not only writing talent, but professional-level commitment to authorship before, during and after publication of their work. In addition, an extensive mentoring program will be part of the program, compulsory for each recipient, and designed to launch the author's current project but also to provide training in editorial and marketing excellence.

OUR MISSION

The Authors' Hall of Fame honors and promotes the works of outstanding published authors from all genres and generations to ensure their legacies will not be lost.

The Hall strives to educate the people of Colorado and the country about the stories of the authors who shaped their works using their personal presence and the environment of our State with courage, leadership, intelligence, compassion, and creativity. Their talents, skills, struggles, and contributions form a legacy that the Author’s Hall of Fame is dedicated to protecting and celebrating.

Authors of diverse backgrounds, from pioneers to politicians, educators to entrepreneurs, are inducted into the Hall of Fame during a gala event held in every odd-numbered year. The authors inducted into the Hall of Fame have created major social, personal, and professional impacts on the lives of others with their words. They do it by elevating readers' knowledge; solving problems; inspiring them to reach and stretch; delivering stories that entertain; stirring the imagination of young and old alike; and changing lives within our State, our Nation and for many, around the World.

WHO WE ARE

The daily operations of the Author’s Hall of Fame are carried out by an all-volunteer Board of Directors. The organizational structure also includes an Honorary Board comprising notable citizens from across the State who support the mission and goals of the Hall of Fame. Throughout the year, volunteers help with the many projects, programs, and events planned by the Board of Directors. All share the same goal of educating society about the contributions of Colorado’s remarkable authors and ensuring their legacy for future generations.
